- Provides guidance to dispatchers and other members of the OCC as necessary to maintain a safe and efficient operation
- Provides additional guidance to dispatchers with regard to FARs and Company manuals
- Assesses and interprets NOTAMs and their real-time impact to the operation
- Provides additional guidance to dispatchers with regard to operational decisions involving MELs / CDLs or flights with adverse weather concerns
- Assists during irregular operations by ensuring flights are planned safely, with consistency and operational efficiency. Assists dispatchers with diverted flights including building routes and weather briefings for subsequent reposition flights
- During emergency situations, assists the Shift Manager and dispatchers as needed
- Keeps dispatchers informed of necessary operational and safety information by updating the OCC Status Board in a timely manner
- Ensures dispatchers are aware of and flights are planned following ATC-mandated reroutes or other traffic initiatives. Participates in ATC conference calls and disseminates ATC information in absence of the ATC Supervisor
- Assists dispatchers working with weight-restricted flights to maximize payload and minimize passenger disruptions
- Assists dispatchers to resolve flight planning or other software issues
- Assists dispatchers and Shift Managers during extended ground delays
- Mentors and monitors dispatchers’ performance on a daily basis.
- Ensures focus flights (VIP movement, curfew issues, etc.) are identified and monitored
- Assists with audits of OCC functions in accordance with the DTM.
- Performs other quality control and auditing functions for the OCC.
- Maintains aircraft equipment suffix database
- Maintains working knowledge and understanding of the SkyWest Airlines Ground Deicing Program (GDP)
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the Vice President OCC, Director OCC Standards and/or Manager OCC Dispatch
