    Baggage Service Operators are responsible for processing baggage, research and reroute bags, as well as help bag room in sorting bags.

    • Coordination and utilization of information from partner carrier, Operations, Line Stations, Maintenance, Passenger Planner, Customer Service and Ramp Service
    • Uploading of Scanner data and assist ramp scanning
    • Research and reroute bags, as well as help bag room in sorting bags
    • Respond to bag messages and answer bag room phone
    • Moderate data entry, e.g.; send FTY, update PNRs, update PAWOB files
    • Assign flights to agents, check for tight CXNS, and keep record of ramp flights
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

    Minimum Requirements

    • Must be at least 18 years old
    • Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license
    • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain credentials necessary for the position
    • Position-specific clearances include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs clearances required
    • Must be able to pass a pre-placement background check and drug screen
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
    • Be proactive in problem-solving and researching customer routing
    • Flexible, organized and detail-oriented
    • Have the initiative to learn and motivate others
    • Bolt skills a plus, but not required
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment

    Education:

     

    • High School Diploma, GED or education equivalent required

    Physical and Other Requirements

    • Ability to lift heavy bags in excess of 40 pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodation
    • Must be able to work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions
    • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
    • Must be flexible to work split shifts including early mornings, afternoons, and evenings
