Primary Job Duties

The Communications Coordinator helps develop and support content and messaging that reflect SkyWest’s culture to its internal and external publics. Must be collaborative and able to write meaningful, concise content for various channels, utilizing knowledge of current media platforms and technology to advance company messages. Will serve on media call rotation and serve as champion of SkyWest culture.

  • Develop and post content for various platforms including company intranet, external website, blog and social media outlets
  • Coordinate with various internal stakeholders to develop and execute consistent messaging that represents the SkyWest brand
  • Write for, edit, and coordinate various newsletters 
  • Produce and distribute news releases, fact sheets, bulletins, and media / corporate correspondence 
  • Support SkyWest’s recognition programs 
  • Serve on rotation to respond to media inquiries, performing necessary internal research and analysis
  • Understand & be prepared to execute Corp Comm Emergency Response Plan
  • Serve as project manager as required
  • Speak in front of various groups of people, including SkyWest employees and external media
  • Understand, track and provide analysis and summaries of communications data 
  • Assist with internal and external special event planning such as employee events / news conferences 
  • Serve as champion of SkyWest culture and brand

Minimum Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to produce quality content at a moment’s notice
  • Strong research, writing and listening skills
  • Applied understanding of technology, new trends and the latest in social/mobile innovation
  • Attention to detail and focus on accuracy
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Collaborative and able to unite numerous internal interests for the greater SkyWest good
  • Able to maintain and execute an editorial calendar
  • Proficient in AP Style
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field preferred

Physical and Other Requirements

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time
